'George Kirk' is Thor!
Deadline Hollywood has confirmed that Chris Hemsworth is set to play the title character in Kenneth Branagh's Thor.
If you don't know who Hemsworth is, you're not the only one. The 25 year old Australian is virtual unknown except for the Home and Away crowd. You may however recognize him as James T. Kirk's father in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot. Yes, that guy , in the USS Kelvin talking to his wife in the middle of a space battle at the beginning of the show - George Kirk.
Not only that, he has reportedly being cast in the remake of Red Dawn, in the role that was played by Patrick Swayze. He is currently filming in Joss Whedon's Cabin in the Woods.
Looks like we'll be seeing a lot of more of Mr. 'George Kirk' in the near future.
